Fondazione Cottino is engaged since its birth to promote values, way-of-doing and culture of entrepreneurship with high impact on society and it has always been close to families, children and the most vulnerable and fragile people. In such a difficult moment during which Covid-19 pandemic crisis has dramatically deepened some of the already known emergencies, Fondazione Cottino’s Board of Directors has approved the purchase and the donation of food goods and cleaners, disinfectants and care products to support families in need with particular attention to the ones with children. Over 15.000 families will receive in the following weeks goods such as pasta, flour, rice, eggs, coffee and canned food; products for care, sanitization and cleaning of the house in addition to ones specifically targeted for children. The initiative is being realized thanks to Fondazione’s philanthropic and entrepreneurial network on piedmont field, to API Torino association and in collaboration with Damamar association, member of Congregazione dei Giuseppini del Murialdo and Torino Solidale network of Comune di Torino, capillary present across 12 centers spread all over the town among which Sermig and Case del Quartiere.

Reconstruction of the kindergarten in the municipality of Loro Piceno (Province of Macerata – Italy) destroyed by the earthquake that hit that territory in the summer of 2016. The structure that also houses the Canteen of the school and, on the upper floor, the Kindergarten was completed and inaugurated at the beginning of the 2018/2019 school year. The school has been named after Filippo Cecchi who originally allowed its construction and Annamaria Di Bari Cottino whose Foundation has contributed to its reconstruction.

The Salesian Oratory “Onda Giovane Salus” has been operating in the District 8 of Turin since 1973, so to meet the young people’s needs of aggregation, and offer them a space different from the street and a growing number of activities aimed at creating an environment open to all types of social situations, in particular towards the poorest ones. “The future starts from here” project aims to build a new building to welcome young people, which can be used every month of the year for the performance of the activities of the oratory. The project comprises the renovation of the premises already in use and the outdoor environments that will be connected to the new building, thus improving the oratory atmosphere and environment.

Educational Services Division of the City of Turin – Services for Minors with Sensory Disabilities.

The Centre, managed by the City of Turin, is a public educational service, aimed at all blind and visually impaired citizens as well as all those who are interested in knowing and further exploring issues related to blindness for various reasons. The Project aims to increase the availability of materials and equipment to lend to children and their families for the development of skills and independence. In particular, its aims are:

a) The experimentation of a “Multisensory exploration Laboratory for blind and severe visually impaired children”;

b) “The creation of books with relief images for blind or visually impaired children”;
